Would really appreciatehHelp, tips and adivce on quitting smoking.
I've finally decided to bite the bullet and quit. Since discovering my fourth pregnancy I've manage to cut right down but haven't managed to pack the filthy habit in entirely. The pushing point was when my innocent beautiful four year old girl, told me that she wanted to go out for a fag break when she was a grown-up just like mummy. It made me feel sick to my stomach (even more than I already do, smoking while pregnant). I've requested help from the special pregnancy quit smoking thing through the NHS and am waiting to hear back from them.
It would be really helpful if I could hear some advice on what helped anyone else out there when they quit? I have three children and it gets quite stressful at times. That nicotine break is a relief sometimes and really am going to need all the help I can get.
Much appreciated xxx
I don't smoke personally but reading the bit about your daughter saying that to you must have neen heartbreaking bless her. It must be hard as you say you have 3 children already which can't be easy! Is there any local groups or anything at your local doctors surgery? At my local one they run drop in clinics to help people quit. Good luck with quiting I'm sure you will do well with the right support it sounds as though you have done amazingly already if you have cut down by yourself I can't imagine it is easy. Congratulations on your fourth pregnancy

dont forget the NHS quit kit if you dont already have one, i don't smoke but got one for my mum, and it came with a chart and stickers to help count off the days you've been smoke free, could be a good way to include your children, and help them understand it all! well done on cutting down already, and good luck with quitting!!! xxx

Thanks @teresacharl I like the sound of that! It should also help my daughter to understand hat what I'm doing isn't nice; if anything it's naughty and mummy is trying very hard to be a good girl by using a reward chart. @KittyBoo - I have no idea about local groups etc - that'll be something the NHS can advise me on when they get in touch hopefully. So nervous - but it has to be done! NO MORE EXCUSES!!
