Starting Primary School
Well, my little man got into the school we applied for
so happy cause its the best school around here and was so worried he wouldnt as its very popular... but now Im really nervous! He doesnt seem old enough to me for big school, he's still my baby! And then there is all this practical stuff... when do I find out what class he'll be in ect. I'm terrified of going to get his school uniform, Ill be in floods of tears!
He's really excited, tells everyone he is going to big school with Bradley and Josh (my foster-brothers). But im scared and sad and proud and... Oh god, everything. Has anyone else got LO's who are already at school? Any tips or advice?
I know exactly what you mean. I was the same with my daughter who is now 7 and in year 2!! She doesn't seem old enough to me to be in year 2 about to do her SAT's in May it really scary!!
You will probably have to go upto the school within the next few months and take in his birth certificate and fill in some forms, parent contact forms etc. That's probably all on your letter anyway?! I got invited to a parents evening in the June and thats when we found out what classes thye were in, all about school uniform etc and had the chance to buy uniform there as well. I made sure i bought her uniform when she wasn't with me because i knew that i would get emotional. The only time she was with me was when we went to get her shoes, had to fight back tears!! Her first day i was really nervous but she was sooooo excited!! Her excitement and the fact she was only going for 3 hours helped alot that first week, i cried once she had gone in and was sat looking at the photos.

Oh that's so unfair, I have to wait until 25/3 to find out
Atm I just seem to be excited about her starting school. I guess the emotional stuff will kick in when it seems a bit more real!
