  • Same @kerry I'm still doing Tegans while she sleeps! It's only a quick job but better than nothing. For a while i managed to sit her on my lap, her back to my stomach so facing the same way as me, let her hold the toothbrush and if she put it in her mouth give it a quick jiggle around....but that's as far as we've got! I'm going to a visit from a dental therapist at my childrens centre next week and i will ask then. If there's any useful info i'll let you know xx

  • hi @kerry i completely forgot to let you knwo what the lady said about teeth!
Basically she wasn't helpful at all and just suggested i "keep trying" and buy 2 toothbrushes instead of 1 so Tegan can hold her own but only put a teeeeny bit of toothpaste on hers so she doesn't get too much flouride.......She said brushing their teeth while their sleep is fine as long as they don't choke...(i would have thought that was obvious?! Lol...really all she told us was how much we needed to look after them and a bunch of random facts about how many children under 7 need fillings and teeth out...which was actually really ALOT! xx

  • @LittleMumma, thanks for that, I did buy him a new toothbrush the other week which had much softer brissles as i thought it maybe that he is still teething that he doesnt like it on his gums. It sort of got better but like u say, jus keep trying!! x x

  • try distracting them with someone else, and if you hold their head back and try and brush quickly, then try again in a couple of hours, and give the child a break from brushing their teeth, but continue trying so they know it needs to be done. :) ... thats not much help, basically the same as what you have both said! lol xxxx
