Hitting her head

Hey, my baby girl is 4 months and half, and she keeps using her hand to hit the right side of her head, where the temple is (it looks like shes punching herself). I am finding it quite disturbing and worrying at the same time...not sure if it is normal, and google isn't reassuring. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this, or if it's something I should go to the doctor or health visitor for.

She does not appear uncomfortable when she does it, its the same way she hits her teddies out of curiosity, but I don't know if its normal that she is doing it on herself.

Comments appreciated

  • my lo does this too (he's 11 weeks).. it normally happens when hes tired or feeding.. which makes me think that maybe its just excited/overlly tired movements that he cant really controll yet.. if you are really worried though then go to the doctors or talk to the health visitor at a drop in clinic. im sure its nothing to worry about but its best to ask and put your mind at rest x

  • @missP when I've seen little ones do that before its because they are tired, might just be that. IF your worried though, as anishar said, talk to doctor or a hv xx
