Chicken pox

Ashleigh has just been sent home with chicken pox. Does anyone have good advice on how to keep her from scratching. I've got calpol and calomine lotion, what else is there i can use?

  • In my latest mother and baby magazine, there's an advert for a new thing called "Care Virasoothe". It's in a rectangular box like calpol. Top half is light blue and bottom half is silver with a little picture of a small childs face in a circle, to the right/middle of the box.

I'll write out the blurb for you...

"Now there's an easier way to prevent scratching in chickenpox. Thanks to Osmo4 technology, there is now a treatment from the Care range of family medicines specifically for chickenpox itch. In clincical trials, nurses rated it as "very effective" in relieving symptoms, reucing the chance of scarring by stopping little hands from scratching."

Available now from: Boots, Sainsbury's, Lloyds, The Co-operative Pharmacy, Tesco and independant pharmacies. For further product information, visit www.itchi.co.uk

    Hope it helps! x

  • ooh that's a point @LittleMumma - you'll have to let me know if it does a good job or not! My two eldest have already had it so probably wont get it again, but my youngest hasn't had it yet and I've got another babe on the way... it'd be useful to know how good it is :) x

  • @intuition I asked someone to pick it up for me yesterday but she didn't have enough money on her and got me calamine lotion instead which was 85p for 200ml and the Virasoothe was £5.80 for 50ml!!!!! I've seen on tesco website it's half price so when i do my shoping online today i will order it....just hope it gets her in time!
