Are new mums more likely to catch colds? =/

Have you found that you have caught more colds after having a baby? I think I read it is common for new mothers to be prone to colds, but I was wondering if any of you guys found that you have had more colds than usual after giving birth.

It is soooo annoying, I've had a cold every month and it can just be abit difficult cuz I spend most my time trying not to give my baby my cold =/

  • It would make sense because during pregnancy your immune system calms a bit to stop your white blood cells from attacking the baby because everyone's cells have antigens and some are unique to each person so to stop the body picking up on the baby (as they will be different) and attacking the baby's cells. So I'm assuming, along with your body recovering from birth, it will take a while for your immune system to fully build up again as in pregnancy your more prone to colds, etc, so also possibly the case after birth. I'm not 100% if that is what it is but that's what I think x
