  • Sorry not been in the same position...had been driving for a while when I had my son, although my partner is learning at the moment, and will probably be nervous when he passes! Maybe just once you've passed, try getting in as much practice as you can without the children in the car if you don't feel happy enough just yet - although know it might be hard finding any free time! Your confidence will improve quickly though! Good luck :)

  • I had my daughter at 16 and passed my test at 18. Whilst I was learning to drive my mum or stepdad would take me out in the car and we occasionally took Millie with us. I made sure her carseat was fitted properly, had baby on board signs in the rear window and if anyone missed them they wouldnt miss the sun shades in the car so they knew I had a child onboard. I was so scared once I passed my test so I took the car out on my own, my mum had Millie and then I started by taking small trips out with her in the car and when I knew the roads weren't busy which helped. Tried to have someone else with me as well which calmed my nerves. I would try that and also put the big P's on your car once you have passed so that everyone knows you are a new driver!

  • If your instructor didnt think you was capable and safe enough he wouldnt put you in for your test, ull be a great driver especially with kids if anythin ull be better because ull be more careful x

  • dont worry if you pass you obviosuly are good enough to be on the roads and be safe its much easier having a car it gives you complete independence. and theres no difference with who is in the car you arent going to endanger them by them just being in the car as long as they are safe and strapped in care seats, booster seats etc :)
