terrified of giving birth

I'm absolutely terrified of giving birth. I love being pregnant but I'm such a wimp when it comes to pain and I cant bear the thought of something going wrong, baby is healthy so I'm not to worried about a problem there, its more I loss to much blood or get a bad tear... just scared it'll come to labour and I wont want to do it....

  • Honestly, the best thing to do is to not think about it. I worried myself silly about it and when it came to the labour it was fine and I actually loved it! Avoid programmes about it because they do not help and try talking to your midwife about your concerns, she may be able to give you some information about it xx

  • I know the feeling, I'm not terrified I'm just anxious. It's the unknown, no matter how much people tell you it will probably shock both of us when we go into labour XD
I'm good with pain, but I tend to reach a peek when I just start crying and wanting it over, so I'll probably wimp out.
:) Just practising relaxing techniques, get your birth plan all ready and just try tp keep calm XD :)
    Thats my plan haha xx

  • Just dont think about it if you dont think about it, it cant worry you! i expected the worst to happen that way i didn't get let down if anything happened during my labour (luckily didn't i had a pretty good labour compared to what i expected lol) i wasn't scared because either way baby has to come out someway! and if you don't want to be in hospital for longer than a day or two then c-section wouldn't be a good idea. if it was that bad people would only ever have 1 child we are female so we are basically made to give birth! the tearing isn't so bad, its just very uncomfortable for the first few days and if you have stitches you worry about them a lot i kept thinking that they had ripped open! which they didnt but a tiny bit of thread did come out a few days later but all was fine :) there are ways to help prevent tearing if you don't know about them search perineal massage in google
a day after i gave birth i wanted another one lol but i did suffer from labour trauma for about 4 weeks after its something uncommon to get but i was one of the unlucky ones lol i did still want another but every time i thought about labour it made me want to throw up! ew haha, not so bad now, im desperate for another and my daughter is only 5months old :) x
