Hi @Tegans-Mummy I'm Tegan's mummy too
Firstly it was only what 6 weeks ago you gave birth??? Alot of people still haven't stopped their afterbirth bleeding by then!!! You're periods may not return to normal for up to a year and at the beginning can be quite heavy espescially the first. Although it can be normal though it could be due to hormonal imbalance (which isn't uncommon after giving birth) I would leave it a few days to see if it goes but if after 14 days you're still on i should see a doctor.
If it gets worse or you start clotting badly then go to the doctors straight away. You're probably anemic which explains the tired and dizziness but if you start to feel faint at any point then that's another time to go the the doctors!!!
Probably nothing to worry about just look out for the signs HTH xxxx

@Tegans-Mummy - Pretty much all of what LittleMumma said but just to let you know I had the same so your not the only one! I stopped bleeding 2 weeks after giving birth, 1st period was fine but second was so heavy I was going through a super tampon and a night-time pad TOGETHER every HOUR. I was so ill, tired, dizzy, had no energy, couldnt eat. Luckily mine only lasted 3/4 days but for the rest of the first year after he was born I had to take pregnacare when I was on my period to stave off anemia.
I would go to your docs if I were you hun, just to be on the safe side. 10 days is a long time xxx

If you are worried then just give you Midwife or Doctor a call & explain. I'm pretty sure it'll be okay but it's better to be safe than sorry & if you give her a call she can let you no what she thinks if the best thing for you to do. I was dizzy from a really heavy period just after having my Son & i was given tablets to bring me off once it'd got to much until the point i went back to my 'normal' ammount xx

@Tegans-Mummy, I only bled for 2 weeks after i gave birth to Harry, but it took ages for me to come onto my natural period after that, i think it was like a month an they were quite light but now all of a sudden they have become very heavy again! I would personally go an see a female doctor explain how u are feeling, it maybe the lack of iron from the blood u are loosing that is makin u feel a bit dizzy! Im anemic, so wen im on my period i go very pale an i feel faint sometimes! maybe take some multi vitamins? but i would speak to a doctor first x x
