I'm gonna say yes, it "hurt" but it wasn't agony (apart from when i had my epidural that was the worst pain i've felt in my entire life!!!) With my first the only pain i felt was when they did the epi pulled her out with the forceps and i thought i was going to die- to be fair i did lose over a pint of blood and wasn't far off a coma so that's perhaps why i felt that way lol.
With my second I'd learnt it was easier to relax at home and get to the hospital last minute and the most painful thing about that labour was the afterbirth, when the midwife pressed on my stomach to get the placenta out i screamed, swore and tried to kick her off as she wasn't budging :| I'm glad she changed shifts just after i gave birth cos that really put me off her haha! All in all i would say labour was very bareable.
