temperature change and moving?

Hi, I'm moving my 14month old daughter to Fussen Germany in about 3/4 weeks.
It's alot colder there. Snow, the lot.
I don't know how she'll cope with it at first. Luckily in Feb spring will be creeping up so will slowly get warmer.
But in Fussen it gets cold November time and stays cold till April haha.
It's beautiful there (if you've seen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the Barons Castle and where its filmed.. is in Fussen, you can see it from my dads house as its on the side of the Bavarian Alps)
But COLD and my poor little girl is used to a hat and gloves when its a bit nippy haha.
She's been on holiday there before but I obviously kept inside, but when I live there 24.7 can't keep an active little girl locked up.
Should I stock up on the coughmeds?
How quickly do kids adapt to changes in temp? xxxx

  • Kids amaze me at how easy they find it to adapt to new things... I reckon it'll take a few months but eventually she'll become used to it! Just make sure you've got lots of warm clothes for her to wear :) x

  • children usually adapt to change very well.
It isn't just the change in weather she has to get used to though, it's moving to another country.
But even big changes like that, they adapt to well.
I mean, I had lived in 9 different houses by the time I was 9 years old, been to 5 different schools and 2 different college's. But in each setting I adapted very well.
I am sure your little girl will love it though, especially the snow? :) xx

  • Kids adapt alot quicker than adults, but she will still feel the cold. So if it were me Id be stocking up on warm clothes and hats and scarf. I say this because I know how many hats, gloves and scarfs get lost or go missing in my house! It is a very beautiful place and I hope you really enjoy your move.

  • @MummyLena time to stock up on woolly cardis and so on. You could get fleece trousers they are warm for little kids. I'm sure she will adapt fine though xx
