The CSA is a joke! My (now ex) partner helped me to fill in all his details, stuff I didnt know like National Insurance Number and we sent it off. Hear nothing for 6 months till we have split up then they ring me. Want me to repeat all the details I have already given them (like, how am I supposed to remember his NI number?) and got really angry with me when I couldnt confirm he was living at his mums address (I said I was pretty sure he was there but if they sent letters there he would get them. They said can you deffinetaly confirm he lives there? I said no. They said ok, we'll dock your benefits. I said fine, Ill confirm it them. They said they couldnt because i wasnt sure he lived there full time. ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!) I gave them the company he was working for and everything. They rang him AT WORK (he rang me afterwards laughing) and said 'Mr ****, do you work?'. He said 'no', they said ok 'Mr ****, you have to pay £00.00'. Even though all they had to do was check with the company, and he was at work with a friend asking him how to lay a cable or something!!!!!!!
It gets worse - next monday, no income support in my account, which is what I pay my bills with. So I rang them and discovered CSA had put a note on my account to say I wasnt recieving any child maintance, because no-one had read it they automatically stopped my money and I had 2 spend the day sat in the job centre with an 18 month old waiting for an emergency giro.
Fast forward 2 years, his dad has been on benefits for 2 years and I get a letter out of the blue telling me I'm entitled to £10 every fortnight from his benefits. Almost wrote back and told them to shove it up their arses. But to be honest, did wanna speak to them AT ALL.
Oh, and right at the beggining, when I said I didnt want to claim child maintenance (Ryan was 1 week old, I was in that I'll provide for him, **** everyone else stage) the woman at the job centre was like 'What if you want to buy a house one day?' Ok, first I doubt his child maintenance would cover mortgage payments and 2, DO I LOOK LIKE A ****ing GOLDDIGGER??????? I thought child maintenance was for your child... clearly not.
