35 weeks +3
This week at antenatal, we had to decide or at least have an idea on contraception after our babies, and we had a women from family planning down, to show us, what the implant looked like, what the coil felt and looked like, and safe to say I've got my contraception methods, in place, and appointments, when labours finished I'll be having the pill injection of Depo-Provera which can last up to 13weeks, but after 4weeks I'll be having the Mirena coil, which apart from 6 monthly checks doesn't have to be changed for up to 5 years, which for me will be easier, that way I won't forget my pill, and won't need to go every 13 weeks for the injection.
Contraception, although your pregnant and may think is silly to think about you can't get pregnant you are pregnant, which is true but after your babies born you can get pregnant so easily, and unless breastfeeding, you can go back to your normal contraception methods such as pills and implants after 21 days, but if your likely to have intercourse before the 21days, then you will need an alternate method, such as the injection after labour, or condoms.
It's nicer to enjoy your newborn baby, and spend quality time with your child then, to fall pregnant straight away. So contraception is important to think about before you end your pregnancy.
