  • I had a water birth and it definately helps with the stinging of pushing the head out...I wouldn't give birth any other way! xx

  • Hi, i had a water birth and it was amazing, so calm and relaxed and deffinatly helped me with the pain as it was warm and soothed my belly, i only had gas&air while in the water and together with the water and gas&air my labour was brill... my waters broke at 10.30 small pain started at 11.30 and contractions started at 3am, i started pushing at 6.45 and baby Leah was born at 7.17am i am very short maybe 5ft2 really skinny and my baby was 7lb 2oz. i believe it was the water birth which made my labour so smooth, good luck! :)

  • I had a epidural and it definitley worked for me, I couldnt feel a thing and I think it also relaxes you and helps your body along with progressing x

  • I wanted a water birth with my first but the pools were taken so ended up just having gas and air, with my second i finally got my water birth it gave me my own room, relaxing music birthing ball and i had gas and air it was the easiest birth i could of ever hoped for. i was in labour for around 2 hours and was only pushing for 10 minutes until she was out. whereas with my first i was pushing for 1 hour and a half and was in labour for 12 hours so i deffo recommend the water birth xx

  • I was induced using Syntocin, this is where hormones are pumped into your body to get the cervix to soften and contractions to start. These contractions are false and are much stronger than if they were natural so at 7cm I opted for an epidural... During the whole time I had it I was suffering with sever back pain, my baby is now 12 weeks and I am still suffering unfortunately with back pain... I'd strongly recommend not having one if you really don't need to! I found breathing techniques really useful. Each person is different and it may well be that it will work for you. Inserting the epidural is a painless procedure if that's also what your worried about. Good luck xxx
