Arwww bless you hun! I cant begin to imagine what your going though.. But I think your a strong chick, for even making this post + sharing it with us. And I believe this will make you even stronger
. My thoughts are with you + I wish you all the best, and hope your labour runs as smoothly as possible. All th best hun take care, you + your baby girl. xx -
@Jade-Marie I think you have to keep yourself in the right frame of mind. You need to stay strong and like @KittyBoo said Princess Ann specialise in these sort of things AND you are at a priority because it has already been detected and treatment is ready for her ASAP. As for the birth, yes it does hurt but once your baby is born (even though the pain is still there) all that matters to you is your baby.
Good luck and just remember that your baby will be in the best place and each operation she has is to make her better
I can't imagine how you must feel babe but as i said stay strong for you and your little girl xxx -
Bless u hun! Firstly, dont worry about the birth - yes, its painful, but its what we were designed to do and you will manage it. One day you'll even look back at it and be like 'Awwww!'.
As for your little girl hun, be strong. Like KittyBoo said, your both in good hands. Read up on it as much as you can so you'll be prepared and never be afraid to ask questions. Take all the support you can. I wont tell you everything will be ok because you never know, but on the other hand babies are amazing resilient and many beat the odds every day... my friends son was given a less than 5% chance to live, they even signed a DNR... but he is still here. I raise money for local disabled children and its amazing watching the lives they lead despite their problems.
If you need someone to talk to hun I'd be happy 2. Either way I'll be thinking of you and your little girl. Best of luck xxxxxxx -
I have no idea what you must be going through but my heart goes out to you
I just looked up what HLHS is and your right it sounds pretty serious - I suppose atleast it has been detected. You must be petrified for your baby and yourself. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Southampton where they specialise in the care of babies with problems? So atleast you will be in good hands. The surgeons and doctors will have had many years experience although I'm sure that this will make no difference to your struggle. Are you going to be staying in hospital with her? And will you be giving birth naturally? I wish you and your daughter all the best and I hope (fingers crossed) thate everything works out for you in the end

@Jade-Marie its good you will be able to stay on same ward if its any concelation. This might be a bit of a long shot - depends if seeing it will make you upset but the Channel 4 documentary One Born Every minute - the one coming up next week on Tuesday 23rd March is about baby born with different illnesses and their fight in southampton hospital. Or on the channel 4 website there are some behind the scenes info about the special baby care unit at the hospital

So sorry to hear about your little girl being poorly, can't imagen how you must feel! But as the other girls have said..stay strong. You will be in good hands! &Never be afriad to say how you feel or ask the nurses/midwifes questions! I hope everyone goes brilliant for you sweetie! Best wishes for you and your little girl!

to kittyboo:
yes southampton have a ward which specialise in that area, and i am very greatfull to be given the opotunity to go there as i am acually from portsmouth. they say during the irst week she has a 25% mortality rate, it scares me to think i could loose her exspecailly so younge ... and knwing she will only live to her teens, yes i will be able to stay on the same ward as her , but wont have contact untill she is ready to come home
i will be induced but it will be a birth. ... thanks xx
to littlemumma:
yes, your right
and i will try to stay strong for her

@Jade-Marie, I know how you feeling. My little boy had problems, which meant he's had two operations and he was born and was 10weeks premature too - soo i really do feel your pain hun,
The way that helped me get though it was taking it day by day and try not to think when he'l be home cause say if he got set back i would be heartbroken.
Also every wire in them, every operation not matter how hard it is to see is and very medicen is there to help them recover. i wont lie it will be the hardest thing you've ever been though but you'l surprize you self at how strong you'l become for her sake.
The birth i bet like mine will be hetic .. you'l mostly likely be monitored alot and there will be alot of doctors there, and am not sure if you will get hold right away (i didn't) but you have to remember its worth it .. i also know some who has a baby girl who has this problem i'l ask her any questions you want answered hun if you like.
its awful, hard and emotional draining but this is what makes her, her. she'l be specail forever.
i wish you best of luck hun, and if you need to talk about it let me know xxxx
